Place Forte de Mont-Dauphin
Videos / Pics
Sited on a plateau overlooking the confluence of the Guil and the Durance rivers, the Mont-Dauphin fort in a remarkable collection of buildings that have been entirely conserved. Mont-Dauphin, with its arsenal, its two gunpowder stores, barracks built into the ramparts and its (unfinished) church, is the archetypal mountain fort. Located in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes, facing the Écrins National Park, Mont-Dauphin is a truly exceptional site. Guided tours (France’s Centre for National Monuments): +33 (0)4 92 45 42 40.
